After a challenging year in California, I made the difficult decision to move my family—my daughter Savannah, 17, and my son Christian, 10—to Minnesota for a fresh start. The journey took everything we had: every dollar I’d saved went toward the five-day drive, food, hotels, and securing a rental home. As a single mom, I’m working two jobs—one as a behavior technician supporting autistic children, and the other as a school bus driver—to provide for my kids and build a new life here.

But after all the expenses, I didn’t have enough left to bring our POD with all our belongings and furniture to Minnesota. Right now, we’re living in an empty house, sleeping on airbeds that lose air every night. We don’t have a table to share meals, a place to sit together, or dressers for our clothes. All we have are a few suitcases. With Minnesota’s cold weather approaching, it’s especially hard knowing our winter clothes, jackets, and boots are locked away in the POD. Christian misses his toys, his Xbox, and the soccer decorations for his new room. I’ve tried everything, including applying for a personal loan, but the high interest rates made it impossible to justify.

Getting our POD delivered would mean so much to us. It would give my kids a sense of comfort and stability, let us eat together as a family, and help us truly settle into our new home before the cold sets in. Any support will help us bring our belongings home and start this new chapter with hope and warmth.
