Silas and I have news! We’re adopting from South Africa! I’ve attached our story below!:)

In 3rd grade, I remember telling my mom that I would adopt one day. Of course, I was a kid myself so most wouldn’t take me seriously. God put adoption in my heart from a young age. He has protected the childlike faith inside of me so that it can be carried on throughout our biological and adopted children. When Silas and I got engaged, I expressed my heart for adoption and he explained that he also wanted to adopt. Silas and I got married in January of 2018. Shortly after we got married, I had a dream that we had adopted. In the dream, we had yet to have biological children. I mentioned the dream to Silas and we both came to terms that we would have biological children before jumping into adoption. In my heart, I felt so conflicted. For some reason, I had this feeling that our own plans were not what God intended. We moved on and continued to pray about adoption and prepare our hearts and marriage for children. At the end of 2020, we decided that we wanted to have a family. Months passed and nothing happened. We started losing hope but, then Jesus. We began receiving prophetic words about our heart for adoption and about how we will become parents to children through adoption. After receiving so many words from different Spiritual mentors and leaders, we decided to fill out the application for adoption through an organization we’ve stayed connected with throughout the year (All God’s Children International). We saved the application without submitting it. God continued to show us signs through different visions, people, and dreams. After God showed us physical signs that it was time, we submitted the application and soon after, found out we had been approved! We then had to decide where we would adopt from. Due to my age, we only had a few options. We prayed and decided that South Africa was it! God then made a way for us to get connected with people who are missionaries in South Africa and He continues to create relationships with people who have served in South Africa! We are now in the process of fundraising and raising money so that we can fund the adoption. We have already received so much support from family and friends and are so happy to announce this news to all of you! We are so excited and cannot wait to meet our baby!
