My name is Trinity and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share my family’s story. My mom has been in a heartbreaking custody battle for my younger brother (12) and sister (7) for the past six years fighting entirely on her own, without an attorney.

From the very beginning, this gave their dad a huge advantage, as he had legal representation while my mom was navigating the complex court system by herself. Despite her determination, following every court order, and filing contempt motions when their dad violated those orders, she’s been denied justice again and again often over small, technical reasons that an attorney could have handled differently.

This fight has taken everything from her time, energy, and savings. She’s traveled back and forth more than 1,500 miles from Iowa for every visitation, every court date, and every chance to see her kids. Yet for the last 18 months, she hasn’t been able to see them at all not even for a weekend, not even for a short break despite having a court order for visitation.

As their sister, it’s been devastating for me too. I haven’t been able to hug them, laugh with them, or help care for them in too long. Our entire family feels the void every single day. My brother and sister have been away from their mom, me, and our extended family for too long. They deserve to grow up surrounded by love from both sides of their family and not feeling like they have to obey only one parent’s wishes.

Now, my mom urgently needs an attorney to continue this fight. She can’t do it alone anymore. We are asking for your help to raise the funds to secure a lawyer who will fight for my siblings’ best interests and for their right to have a relationship with their entire family.
