On July 17, 2025, my brother, Juan Jose Soto, walked into the Utah County Jail in Spanish Fork to get his fingerprints done. What he didn’t know was that Immigration was waiting for him. They took him from us that day. Since then, we’ve only been allowed one short phone call with him each day. We haven’t been able to hold him, see his smile, or feel his presence in our home—and it feels like a piece of our family is missing. Juan Jose Soto isn’t just anyone. He’s a husband, a father, a son, and my best friend. Losing him like this has shattered our family in a way I can’t put into words. The house feels emptier, and so do our hearts. I wouldn’t wish this kind of pain on anyone. Juan is the kind of person who would drop everything if you needed him. When I was sad, he was the one who made me laugh until I couldn’t breathe. He always stood up for me, always had my back. If I didn’t have anyone else to show up for me, I knew he would—without question. We used to stay up late getting food, sharing snacks, or just laughing while playing Call of Duty together. He wasn’t just my brother; he was my safe place, my comfort, and my best friend. Now, we’re left with silence where his laughter used to be. His kids miss their dad, and our parents are stuck with the hope of helping him out. It’s unbearable watching my family break like this. We’re doing everything we can to fight for him, but we can’t do it alone. We need help to pay for a lawyer and the legal process to bring him home. If you can help—even if it’s just one dollar—it means the world to us. Every single bit makes a difference, not just financially but because it reminds us that we’re not alone in this fight. Thank you from the bottom of my heart❤️
