Help us bring our family to the US

Hi! My name is Jia, I made this GoFundMe on behalf of my mom.

My mom and I immigrated to the US in 2007 when she got married to my dad. In 2009, my dad passed away from stage 4 lung cancer and my mom had to work tirelessly to pay off medical bills and to put food on the table. She used to work two jobs averaging about 60+ hours a week for years until her body could not take it anymore. My mom continues to talk about getting a second job again, but she has underlying health conditions from stress and her recent pregnancy.

Our ultimate goal is to bring my grandma (Mama T) and my sister Jenny to America, but as we all know that is a very long and expensive process. My family is also planning to move out of Hawai’i in a year or two because their landlord is selling the house and the housing prices in O’ahu is not affordable to the lower middle class.

My mom currently works at Safeway and her husband now works as a caretaker but sadly since they live in Hawai’i, they’re barely making a living wage. I just graduated college and am trying my best to help them save up to bring my grandma to the US but I also have my own bills and student loans to take care of. We do not come from a wealthy background, my mom and stepdad are both working tirelessly every day while taking turns to care for my youngest sister Gillian. My mom also has to send money to the Philippines to help our family pay bills.

We’re asking for you to donate as much as you can to help us bring my grandma and sister to the US so that we can all be reunited again. My mom has put an initial deposit down for my grandma but there’s still more expenses to pay. All funds will go towards the immigration process, plane tickets, and other expenses. All donations will really help take a lot of monetary and mental stress out of my family, especially my mom; who as I mentioned have worked tirelessly all her life.
