Help Us Bring Joy to 200 Children each Monday!
Donation protected

An average of 200 - 250 children collect an average of 1.8 tonnes of recyclables from the streets and beaches of Jeffreys Bay every week. This trash is weighed and then converted into an imaginary currency called “Mula” which the children can then spend in our shop. The prices of products in the shop are determined based on necessity.
The project is run with the help of volunteers from the community. Our amazing volunteers give up their time and energy to assist the project in various ways, from buying stock, setting up the shop, making clothes and blankets, admin and media liaison work, and helping the children who participate in the project on Mondays (Recycling Days).
The Project remunerates no volunteers, and aside from essential running costs, all the income generated from the sale of the recyclables and all donations are used to stock the shop.
In the ten years we have been operating, our project has recycled over 750 Tons of trash and received approximately 75 858 individual visits from children.

The JBay Recycling project operates every Monday during the school term.
If you feel you could or would like to assist us in any manner… please get in touch.
We welcome donations of any kind, financial, and anything that would benefit the children we nurture and educate.
The project and its volunteers thank you for contributing ❤️!
