On April 27, our family received devastating news—there had been a homicide involving two young men in the Nashville, Tennessee area. For several days, only one victim was identified. Then, on April 30, we were notified that the second victim was our beloved Jaime Valdez Garcia.

Jaime had just turned 18 years old on February 13. He was full of life, with his future ahead of him, and this tragedy has left our family in deep pain and shock.

In the midst of this heartbreak, we are now faced with the urgent and overwhelming challenge of bringing Jaime home to Alabama so we can lay him to rest with the love and respect he deserves. The cost of transporting his body and arranging funeral services is more than our family can bear alone.
