Some of you reading this already know and some of you don’t but 2025 was a difficult year for Tyler and I. We had been trying to have a baby since 2023 and early in 2025 we decided we were going to go to a fertility specialist so that we could try and find out why we were not able to have a baby naturally. Test after test came and we started to feel like we were walking into more and more uncertainty as the year and visits progressed. In November 2025, we were told that we were experiencing unexplained male infertility.

You know what no one wants to hear, “hey there is a problem but we do not know why or how to fix it”. Okay so maybe that is not the exact wording the doctor used but that is all that we heard. What else we heard is that we would not be able to have a baby biologically.

We had several conversations about what we would do if the tests say, fill in the blank but nothing prepared us for the emotions we felt. Anger. Sadness. Disappointment. Emotions that I do not even know what word would be associated with it.

Suddenly the what if conversations became the what are we going to do conversations. Things we never thought we would be talking about we were talking about.

After several days of back and forth on what we should do conversations and more praying than I even knew we were capable of, we decided that we were going to move forward with the adoption process.

Making this decision brought more questions. Where do we start? Do we want to adopt a baby or do we care what age? Are we open to all races? Questions people do not think about when they think about having a baby.

They do not just stop with us either. Telling family and friends brought a lot of questions as well.

But anyway here we are. Here is what we are walking through and we are so excited for everything that is coming our way. We are starting the process and have decided on what agency we will be working with.

As many answers as we now have, we are still walking each day into the unknown of what is going to happen but we are ready for this journey.
