It all happened on a day in all too recent memory, the day of catastrophe, a shoe to a power cord to a power strip to a TV, a symbol of the evanescent threads that bring us together in this uncaring world. I'll never forget the sight of our phlounge TV shattered beyond recognition upon the cold, hard corner of the table.
