Help us bring Emmsley’s brother, our baby home ❤️

My daughter Emmsley was placed with me at 3 days old as a foster placement. At six months old, bio mom voluntarily relinquished, and Emmsley has been my daughter ever since Life has changed a lot over the last four years, and I certainly never anticipated considering having anymore children.

Emmsley’s bio mom gave birth on 12/13 to a beautiful baby boy, and similar to Emmsley’s situation, she is unable to raise this baby. I flew down from Illinois (where we relocated in March from Texas). Everything seemed like it was going smoothly. CPS understood that I was willing to stay in Texas with baby to wait for ICPC (the process necessary to take baby back to Illinois). But on the day I was supposed topick him up from discharge at the hospital, CPS called to inform me they’d opted to place with a licensed foster home in state.

I reached out to the attorney that was Emmsley’s ad litem. The good new is, my coverage through my work will cover ALL of the adoption costs. The difficult part is I’m left with two choices:

1) I can wait for the state of Texas AND Illinois to expedite the ICPC process, and even expedited, our attorney believes it’ll take a minimum of 3-6 months to get, wherein baby will remain isolated from his family with a random family in the foster system. And once ICPC is in place, I’ll still be required to frequent at least once a month back to Texas for another 6-12 months until CPS processes termination on their terms.

OR

2) Since both parents are willing to voluntarily relinquish to me, I can intervene and get baby home and out of state foster care permanently, within a matter of only weeks. Our attorney estimates the cost of this intervention at $5,000.

I am believing in a Christmas miracle. Please help us bring our baby home!
