Hi, my name is Raniyah, and I’m fundraising for my little brother, Ayyub — a kind, funny, and resilient 16-year-old who has been through more in the past year and a half than most people face in a lifetime.
In early 2024, Ayyub was suddenly struck down by a rare and devastating condition called Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM). It came out of nowhere and changed his life in an instant. The illness attacked his spinal cord, leaving him paralysed from the chest down. Since then, he has been living in hospital — for over 13 months now.
Ayyub has shown unbelievable strength and courage as he learns to adapt to life in a wheelchair. He’s working hard every day to adjust to his new normal — but he’s still in hospital, not because he needs to be medically, but because our family home just isn’t equipped for his needs.
We want nothing more than to bring Ayyub home.
To do that, we need to build a ground-floor extension that includes a wheelchair-accessible bedroom and wet room. This will give him the safety, independence, and dignity he deserves — and most importantly, let him be surrounded by the love and warmth of his family again.
We’ve been doing everything we can to make this happen, but we’re facing a shortfall of £15,000 to begin the building work.
This is where we’re asking for your help.
Every donation — no matter how big or small — will go directly toward making our home a safe and accessible place for Ayyub. If you’re not able to donate, simply sharing this page with others would mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for reading Ayyub’s story, and for helping us bring our brother home.
With love and gratitude,
Raniyah & Family
