Help Us Bring a Child Into the World After a Devastating Loss

Our lives changed forever when my wife developed severe preeclampsia during her pregnancy—an already dangerous condition that quickly escalated into HELLP syndrome. In just a few short hours of developing HELLP syndrome we lost our precious baby boy and my wife started the long fight for her life.

She endured three blood transfusions and underwent two rounds of dialysis to stabilize her kidneys. Her kidneys, liver and heart are damaged but she’s getting better day by day with the help of her medication. Her recovery has been long and painful—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The trauma from this experience runs deep, and while we are grateful she survived, the heartbreak of losing our son is something we carry every day.

Doctors have warned us that getting pregnant again would put her life at risk and have advised that we should not. After everything she’s endured, she can’t go through that again—and I would never ask her to. But we still dream of becoming parents. We still dream of holding a healthy baby in our arms, of raising a child with every ounce of love we have to give and everything we had hoped to give our son.

That’s why we’re turning to surrogacy—a safe path forward that gives us hope. But as many know, surrogacy is expensive. It can cost anywhere from $80,000 to $150,000, including medical, legal, and agency fees. We’re asking for help to raise a portion of that amount to start the process when we’re ready.
