Hi, my name is Jo and I’m the co-founder of My Sisters' Kitchen CIC. This small community interest company supports individuals who face barriers to employment, including those with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, and those with limited formal qualifications, through food-based training, workshops, and supported work placements.
Like many small businesses, we’ve been through a lot — from the unexpected closure of our training café and pizzeria to dealing with higher everyday costs. Recently, we faced a financial setback that left us with a debt of £2862.03. This has put us at risk of legal action and other money problems. Despite working hard, this debt threatens to end everything we’ve built and the help we provide to our community.
We’re turning to our community — friends, customers, supporters, and kind strangers — to ask for help.
Why We Need Your Help
We’re raising money to pay off this urgent debt so we can get back on track. Clearing this debt will help us to:
- Keep running our programs and making some income to support our community-focused work
- Continue offering training and chances for people who face barriers to employment, education, or just living well
- Keep participating in markets, food workshops, school programs, and pop-up food events that benefit our community
Why It Matters
My Sisters' Kitchen CIC is more than just a business — it’s a way to make a positive difference. We’ve helped many people, from children to seniors, including survivors of domestic abuse, people with PTSD, autism, ADHD, or those struggling to find work. We do this by offering real life skills, teaching cooking skills, offering mentorship, and creating an inclusive, supportive environment.
Through projects like ‘Pizzapprentice’, ‘Raising Dough Street Food’, and our ‘Bake She.d’ initiative, we provide practical learning, boost confidence, and help people build brighter futures.
If we don’t clear this debt soon, we risk losing everything we’ve worked so hard for. Every donation — big or small — is a step toward recovery. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this with your network would mean the world.
Where Your Support Will Go
- £2862.03 – covers the outstanding debt
- Any additional funds will go toward workshop costs, ingredients, training materials, and running community food events
We’re not giving up. We just need a little help getting over this hurdle.
Thank you so much for reading, helping, or sharing our story.
