I always hoped my mother would meet our first child. She was recovering, and then complications during a hospital stay, including sepsis, changed everything. She didn’t survive, and that moment was lost. But our desire to become parents hasn’t changed. We’re a married couple in Texas who are ready to become parents. We have stable jobs, a safe home, and the means to raise a child in a healthy, loving environment. We are currently in the planning phase of surrogacy and working toward securing a clinic, egg donor, and gestational surrogate. The only barrier we’re facing is the cost. Because we’re both men, having a child requires IVF, an egg donor, a gestational surrogate, and the legal protections that go with that process. These are medical and legal necessities, and they come with a one-time cost that’s out of reach for us on our own. We’re not asking for help raising a child. We’re asking for help creating our family. All funds raised will go directly toward IVF, donor eggs, surrogate compensation, medical care, insurance gaps, and required legal fees. We’re thankful for any support from friends, family, and our community as we take this step toward parenthood.
