This past year has been the hardest of our lives. My family is on the verge of losing our home, and every day feels like a fight to keep our little boy safe and sheltered. My girlfriend, who is mute, lost her job a year ago. Watching her struggle to find work again broke my heart, and despite her strength and determination, it took a year before she was able to find another job. I have been working as much as possible, but my income just isn’t enough to cover all our bills. My mom has been helping us, but she can only do so much.

Now, with rent due and nowhere else to turn, we are terrified of being forced out of our apartment. Our 3-year-old son is the light of our lives, and the thought of him not having a safe place to sleep keeps us up at night.
