My name is Desmond, and I’m a single dad doing my best to care for my 11-year-old. My mother passed away recently, and her funeral is being held in Canton, OH. She had me when she was just 16, and we truly grew up together. She was not only my mother but also my best friend—the kindest and sweetest person I’ve ever known. I want to honor her memory by being there to give her a proper eulogy and say goodbye, something I feel I owe to her after all she did for me.

To make this possible, I need to travel with my child from out of town to Canton, OH. The costs for flights, a hotel stay, and a car rental are more than I can manage on my own right now. The funeral is coming up quickly, and I’ll be traveling the morning of October 26th and returning the next day.
