Hi, my name is Angelica, and I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant preparing to welcome my baby girl.
I recently picked up a second job and am now working 7 days a week to try and prepare for maternity leave. My boyfriend is also working full-time, 6 days a week. We are both doing everything we can to stay afloat and prepare for our baby.
At the end of this month, we will be moving into a place where our rent will be $1,000 a month. While we’re grateful to have a home lined up, this adds to the financial pressure as we prepare for time off.
Unfortunately, I do not receive paid maternity leave. Starting in July, I will have no income while I recover from childbirth and care for my newborn.
During that time, if we’re unable to save enough, my boyfriend will be responsible for covering all of our expenses on his own. With rent, bills, everyday necessities, and ongoing financial obligations like child support, that will be extremely difficult on a single income.
Even working two jobs, it has been extremely difficult to save enough to cover everything ahead of time.
I am asking for help so I can take the time I medically need to heal and be there for my baby without the stress of having no income.
Any support—no matter how small—will go toward rent, utilities, diapers, and essential baby items during my maternity leave.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this would mean so much to us. Thank you for taking the time to read and support our growing family.
