Help Us Adopt Micha and Amara
Donation protected
We are in the process of adopting Micha and Amara, a brother and sister who have been living with us for over four years. Their early years were marked by hardship, as both children were exposed to drugs before birth and during infancy. Micha, in particular, faced significant challenges—he had core issues, sensory issues (which continues), and not able to talk when he first arrived, and both children have struggled with night terrors. With the help of dedicated therapists, Micha learned to walk and speak, and Amara quickly followed her brother’s lead. Over time, they have become an inseparable part of our family, calling us mom and dad and growing in ways that inspire us every day.
We knew the biological mother, she reached out to us to see if we could take care of them. We were granted legal custody on February 14, 2022, after the parents did not appear in court. Since then, we have done everything we can to provide Micha and Amara with a safe, loving home. The children have known our last name since they could talk, and as part of the adoption, we are making it official. Our goal is to finalize the adoption before they start school, giving them the stability and sense of belonging they deserve.
We are raising funds to cover the legal fees and other expenses involved in the adoption process. We want to ensure Micha and Amara have every opportunity to thrive, and we are committed to supporting Micha’s ongoing needs so he can live a full and happy life. This journey has taught us the true meaning of family, and we are grateful for any support that helps us give these children the future they deserve.
