Help us adopt and foster
Donation protected
Dear family and friends,
We are Benjamin and Mirriam from Cleveland, OH. We serve as pastors of Liberation Church and are very grateful for the opportunity to serve in our respective areas of work and ministry. We just celebrated seven years of marriage and are looking forward to starting a family together.
As some of you may know, we lost our baby, N’yema Hope, in 2017 and have been on a journey of learning to trust in God's timing and purpose. We know He has placed in our hearts the desire to be parents and still believe that the Lord will give us biological children in due season. However, both of us have always desired to be foster and adoptive parents to children who have already experienced so much in their lives. We want to provide a home and family for them and be a part of God's restorative plan, providing an atmosphere where they can heal and be nurtured into their God-given destiny.
We have been so honored to be introduced to some amazing children that we believe the Lord wants us to adopt and we have until the end of March to get approved to adopt them. We have completed our adoption and foster care classes and submitted all paperwork. The only thing remaining is turning our old home into a child-safe zone. As some of you may know, we live in a house built in 1918 and it requires extensive work to ensure that the building is lead safe, not a fire or evacuation hazard, and is both electrically sound and watertight. This will require extensive electrical work, replacing roofing and windows, waterproofing and rewiring the basement, removing lead-based paint and repainting with lead-free paint. We are doing all we can to make sure that all of these issues are addressed as soon as possible so that we can provide a home for these children.
As most of you know, we would not usually ask for help :-) but all that we need done in this short period of time is impossible on our own! Any help will be greatly appreciated. No help is too small. Above all we ask for your prayers as we continue on this journey together!
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
Blessings and much love,
Ben & Mirriam
Update: after consultations with various contractors we had to update our estimated costs.
