My name is Cinthia, and my heart is heavy as I share what my family is going through. My husband, Uriel, is not only my partner in life but my best friend—the man who works hard every single day to take care of us, the father who plays on the floor with our babies until they’re giggling, the one who still kisses me goodnight no matter how tired he is.
If you know Uriel, you know his big smile & his kind heart. You know the way he lights up a room and how he treats everyone like family. As the oldest of four brothers, he’s always been a protector—not just for his siblings, but for everyone around him. Many people in Lake County know him through school and his local pest control work, and so many have been touched by his kindness.
But right now, our world has been turned upside down.
On July 18, Uriel was in a devastating car accident. He suffered life-altering injuries: a fractured leg, hip, pelvis, rib, and head—all on the left side. He has already endured five surgeries on his leg and one on his hip, with more in the future, including a total hip replacement. He’s been in the hospital for 3 weeks, fighting through pain and working toward the day he can come home.
While workers’ comp will cover his medical bills, the truth is that our family is facing a different kind of hardship. I will need to take time away from work to care for Uriel during his long recovery—while also being there for our two little ones, Mia (3) and Adan (2). This means months without our full income, all while the bills keep coming and our babies still need everything they did before.
The funds from this GoFundMe will go directly toward helping us keep our home running—food on the table, diapers for the kids, gas for hospital trips, and all the little daily needs that add up when your world stops but life keeps going.
Uriel has always been the one to show up when someone needed a hand. Now, I’m asking for help on his behalf. If you can give, please know that every single dollar will make a difference for our family. And if you can’t, your prayers, your words of encouragement, and your love mean more than you’ll ever know.
From my family to yours—thank you for helping us through this storm so that Uriel can come home to us.
