Support the Kichwa Midwives of Amupakin: Guardians of Ancestral Birth Wisdom
I had the deep honor of learning from the Kichwa midwives of Amupakin in the Ecuadorian Amazon, a sacred, Indigenous-led midwifery center nestled in the Ecuadorian Amazon. These women are the keepers of a lineage that has preserved the ancient ways of birth, womb healing, and feminine care for generations.
Amupakin is not recognized or supported by the Ecuadorian government, yet these midwives continue to serve any woman in need, never turning anyone away, regardless of her background or financial status.
This fund is being created to directly uplift and support the midwives and their facility. 100% of the donations will go to Amupakin, helping them sustain their space, purchase medical supplies, improve their infrastructure, and continue the life-saving, soul-honoring work they do for women every single day.
They are more than midwives. They are medicine women, healers, and protectors of ancestral knowledge that our world urgently needs.
Your contribution supports:
The midwives’ living stipends
Medical and birthing supplies
Maintenance and improvements to their healing center
Their continued ability to offer free care to women in vulnerable situations
All updates and proof of fund transfers will be shared transparently here, so you know exactly where your support is going.
Thank you for helping preserve sacred wisdom and supporting the women who live it every day. This is more than a donation—it’s a prayer in action.
