Help Upgrade Timothy M. Breidegam Baseball Field

My name is George Cherrie, secretary for the Kutztown American Legion Baseball Association and I am reaching out on behalf of this nonprofit charitable organization seeking funding to support the installation of a video scoreboard at the Timothy M. Breidegam Baseball Field, dedicated to the memory of Timothy M. Breidegam who died in a tragic accident years ago. This is already a beautiful facility, and many people donate their time and effort to keep it that way. After hosting a PIAA State Championship Quarterfinal Game and Berks County American Legion Championships at the field, it became apparent that the field will be a preferred location for future events. Some of our very recent improvement projects include the new sound system, new dugout roofs, freshly painted dugouts, new shed roof an improved modern batting case, new signs for the field and dugouts, and major upgrades and improvements to the bullpens.

Daktronics, the manufacturer of our current scoreboard recently advised that our current scoreboard is approaching it life expectancy and will eventually need to be replaced. The best option would be to replace our existing scoreboard. The replacement does not need to be done immediately but it is better to prepare for a major project than wait until the current scoreboard stops working.

Our vision is to create the most beautiful and technologically advanced baseball field, a fitting tribute to Timothy’s legacy. We have already received a significant contribution from Breidegam Family Foundation.
