Since July 2025, the Delaware County Emergency Services 911 Technical Team, along with engineers from EF Johnson/Kenwood and ACD Telecom, have been working hard conducting critical radio coverage testing. Testing on land and sea, this testing marks a key milestone in the implementation of the County’s new P25 LMR (Land Mobile Radio) system for Public Safety communications.

The coverage testing is designed to ensure the reliability and performance of the new system, which will provide enhanced communication capabilities for first responders across Delaware County. Deputy Chief of Technology Steve Castellano and his team have dedicated the past five years to the planning, development, and deployment of the system. Their continued efforts are bringing Delaware County one step closer to launching this state-of-the-art communication platform.

The new P25 radio system is expected to go live in December 2025, delivering a more resilient and interoperable communication solution for police, fire, EMS, and other emergency services throughout Delaware County. As a result, our current Delaware County scanner feeds will need to also be upgraded to work with the new P25 radio system. The scanners and antennas being used for the current Delaware County radio system are not compatible with the new P25 system. The upgrade will consist of five Uniden BCD325P2 scanners, five rooftop yagi antennas to receive the P25 transmissions, and wiring to connect the antennas to the scanners.

Philly Scanner Feeds has been voluntarily broadcasting the Delaware County police scanner feeds on Broadcastify since 2015. In order to continue providing these feeds, the equipment used to produce the feeds must be updated. Your donation to this fundraiser will be used to purchase the required major equipment to keep Delaware County on Broadcastify.
