Help Us Build a Safe Creative Space for Our Youth in West Oakland
My names is Ernest Holloway, also known as “Unc,” one of the members behind Unc’s Place Youth Program. We are raising money to build a youth recording studio right here in the heart of West Oakland—a space where our young people can not only dream, but actually go after those dreams.
This studio will be more than just a place to make music. It will be a safe, creative sanctuary for Bay Area youth to express themselves, discover their talents, and learn real-life skills. Here, they’ll have the opportunity to learn how to write music, make beats, record, engineer, and even distribute their work properly. We’re not just teaching them how to make music—we’re helping them build futures.
In West Oakland, there aren’t many programs dedicated to uplifting our youth—but there are too many negative paths they can fall into. That’s why this studio matters. It’s about providing a positive option. It’s about giving our young people a real shot at something better.
But we can’t do this alone. We need our community. We’ve started this GoFundMe with the hope that people who believe in our youth will step up and help make this vision a reality.
If you’ve ever wished you could make a difference—this is your chance. Every donation, every share, every bit of support brings us one step closer to opening the doors.
Let’s show our youth that their dreams matter—and that we’re behind them all the way.
With deep gratitude,
Ernest “Unc” Holloway & the Unc’s Place Youth Program Team
