Help Uncle George Breathe Again: Lung Transplant Recovery Fund
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
We are reaching out to you with love and hope for our beloved Uncle George, who was recently diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a serious and progressive lung disease that makes it increasingly difficult to breathe. After many tests, consultations, and prayers, Uncle George has been approved for a life-saving lung transplant.
This transplant gives Uncle George a second chance at life—but the journey doesn't end there. Recovery from a lung transplant is long and complex. He will need to stay near the UC San Diego Health Hospital, in La Jolla, California, for several months post-surgery for daily checkups, rehabilitation, and to be monitored for any complications. During this time, he won’t be able to work, and the financial strain on his family will be immense.
We’ve started this GoFundMe to help cover:
- Temporary housing near the transplant center
- Medical and rehabilitation expenses not covered by insurance
- Travel costs for our Aunt and family
- Everyday living expenses during his recovery
Anyone who knows Uncle George knows how selfless, funny, and big-hearted he is. He’s the kind of person who shows up when you need him—with a smile, a story, and usually a big hug to give. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
Your support—whether it's a donation, a share, or a prayer—means the world to us. Every bit helps lighten the load and brings George closer to healing.
Thank you for helping Uncle George breathe freely again.
With deep gratitude,
The Rodriguez Family ❤️
