Unique Little Angel's U.L.A. Special Needs Daycare was inspired by my specialized daughter, who is nonverbal. No one could assist me with her level of autism. She got kicked out of multiple schools and daycares at the age of three, and due to this, it put a financial strain on my life. I wasn't able to keep a job and lost multiple opportunities. This caused a deep depression.
So instead of drowning in the problem, I became a part of the solution. I started an in-home daycare for special needs children like my daughter. From there, we expanded into a large family home daycare, and it wasn't long before we outgrew the home. Our facility allows on-site therapeutic services like Sooner Start, physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.
So I took a chance on myself and on the special needs community. I took a leap of faith, and in February 2026, we found ourselves a daycare center. As I thought to myself, about time I get everything where I would like it to be, my daughter will be aging out of special needs care. So, along with that leap of faith of the daycare center, we also got a 4-plex to start our Unique Living Alliance U.L.A. Residential Direct Living Support Services for special needs adults.
Due to unexpected minor repairs, it prevented us from being able to expand into the center until the repairs were fixed. It put a financial strain on our community, as a large family child care home cannot simply cover the expenses of a daycare center and a 4-plex all at the same time. Everything was very much time-sensitive, and due to life simply not giving us a break, we ran out of time.
We are at risk of losing absolutely everything before we ever even move in. I cannot stress enough how much these families are depending on me. Failure isn't an option. These babies need me. And honestly, believe it or not, I need them too. They gave life back into me and gave me purpose. So I'm asking my community for help to help me help my special needs community. We need you.
