Hello Friends,

For the last two weeks, many of you have asked about my family and the situation across the ocean. Many have sent prayers and words of support. Many have already helped financially and contributed to feeding countless refugees. They have also put smiles on many children's faces by sponsoring toys for those arriving in Poland. And for that, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

While my family is currently safe in Krakow, they see the horror this war has brought firsthand as an increasing number of refugees roam the streets searching for hope. For the last two weeks, the images my family has sent and the stories they have told keep me up at night. While I do all I can from across the ocean by spreading awareness, collecting funds, purchasing and sending necessities, I feel it’s time I join my family in providing relief.

I was born and raised in the US but my roots are Polish. My mother was born in Krakow. My father was born in Drohobycz. He walked the very streets that are now seeing people flee their homes, children crying, families being torn apart. I’m bilingual, have dual citizenship, know the city of Krakow very well, have worked with children for many years as a teacher, and have what others describe “a bubbly personality”. All qualities that might come in handy. I know I won’t change the world, but with your help, we can make a difference in a few people's lives.

I am flying to Poland on Sunday, March 13th, with the intention of volunteering at the main train station in Krakow. It is a major hub to where Ukrainians are arriving each day, most with only a single bag of personal possessions. While some are "adopted" by Polish families or continue traveling deeper into Europe, many arrive with no plan and no relatives to support them. With your help, I'd like to provide them with food, toiletries, accommodation or anything they might need.

The cost of my travel is being fully paid for by me so that 100% of your generous contributions can go directly to helping Ukrainians in need. Every little bit will help enormously in making a difference!

A horrible storm rages over Ukraine, but the sun will eventually come out!
