Hi all, we are Ashley from USA and Claudia and Brenda from the Netherlands and we start this fundraiser for our kind and caring friend Uday Banar and his family of 7.

Uday and his family, consisting of two parents, three sisters and a little brother of 3 years old, lived a happy and normal life until the war began and their home and whole life was destroyed.

Like so many others this family lost everything and they had to flee to a refugee camp. Now they are displaced and live in a small tent in the refugee camp of Deir Al Balah, doing everything to survive and overcome the anxiety, stress, hunger and sadness.

Uday reached out to us for friendship and mental support and never asked for anything more. But we see his struggle, being the only brother in the family, his sense of responsibility is enormous and it’s a huge burden to carry on these 17 year old shoulders. Instead of playing basketball, his favorite sport, studying and hanging out with teenage friends, he needs to provide for his family that’s totally dependent from the aid system in the camp.

His little 3yo brother Kemal needs to have toys, play with other children, eat an icecream now and then and just needs to have the chance to be a kid.

Therefore we decided to start this fundraiser and try to raise some money for this family to get through the days of uncertainty, hunger and stress. To buy food, necessities and a treat now and then for little Kemal, the apple of Uday’s eye.
