<div>"Hello, I am a Palestinian young man from Gaza, Saif Muhammed Bannar, and I would like to share my story and ask you for help in my times of distress. I've always had big dreams and ambitions. I was about to graduate from university, dreamed of becoming a computer engineer and professional success. But, in one moment the war changed everything, and broke my dreams.
</div>
<div>On a tragic day, the war completely destroyed my family's home, something I still can't believe. I, and my eight family members, were forced to leave behind everything we had. We had to move from our home in Shujaiya to a school in Tel el-Hawa. After a week of fear, anxiety and bombing next to us, we were once again displaced to Nuseirat, where we stayed in another school, in a class packed with about 50 relatives for three months. The area was not safe, as we were witnessing shelling, killing and destruction around us. The shelling, constant stun grenades and stifling gas bombs, especially at night, forced us to displace again, this time to Deir al-Balah.
</div>

</div>
<div>There, we had to sleep in the open for the first two nights while we collected and bought tent supplies. Now that four months have passed in the wretched tent, we have experienced extreme winter cold, extreme summer heat and lack of basic viability.
</div>
<div>Living in the tent is very difficult. The 4x3 meters tent is our kitchen and bedroom simultaneously. We sleep so glued together that we can't move our bodies. We miss privacy and security, and we have to stand in long lines to use a mixed bathroom. In the height of summer, we set fire to cook food, and most of our meals consist of heating canned or baking on the mud oven. These difficult circumstances made every day a struggle for survival.
</div>
<div>Recently, I heard about an opportunity to complete my education eight months after the war. Although war continues and devours human beings and stone, I refuse to surrender to the circumstances. Education is my only hope for change. I need your help to provide a suitable learning environment. My plan is to buy a solar panel and educational materials that will help me to pursue my studies and work remotely.

<div>My name is Ahmed, I am not more than fifteen years old, I was supposed to be in school, among my classmates, but the war changed everything, I could not go back to school, I do not know until this moment if the school existed or if my classmates were alive, I now live in a tent, after I used to live in our house, our house was not big, but it could have all of us, we and my brothers for more than twenty years, but now it no longer exists, it has become just memories, Heap of rubble. Like every child in the world I was supposed to walk in the park, play football, climb trees, laugh a lot, but I spend my day standing in endless queues, there is a water queue, a food queue, a bathroom queue, many times when your turn comes the water is over, and if you are lucky you will have enough food to feed a bird not for human. Fifteen years, and all I know about the world is death in its worst forms, non-stop funerals, corpses thrown in the streets, hunger and thirst, I was supposed to be a child but I grew up early.

<div>Uday and his family, consisting of two parents, three sisters and a little brother of 3 years old, lived a happy and normal life until the war began and their home and whole life was destroyed.

<div>Like so many others this family lost everything and they had to flee to a refugee camp. Now they are displaced and live in a small tent in the refugee camp of Deir Al Balah, doing everything to survive and overcome the anxiety, stress, hunger and sadness.

<div> Uday reached out to us for friendship and mental support and never asked for anything more. But we see his struggle, being the only brother in the family, his sense of responsibility is enormous and it’s a huge burden to carry on these 17 year old shoulders. Instead of playing basketball, his favorite sport, studying and hanging out with teenage friends, he needs to provide for his family that’s totally dependent from the aid system in the camp.

<div>I have been connected to Seraj Aburaida since January 18, 2024. When we were first connected, Seraj was staying in the camps in Khan Younis but everything there was destroyed. He has lost everything, again, except for the clothes off his back and his phone, and was displaced for the 3rd time to Rafah, and now for a 4th time back to Khan Younis so that is where he is now! He lives in a tent with his immediate family of 9. They are all currently (as of August 2024), trying to get ready to move yet again.

<div>I video chatted with him to verify him before I started this Go Fund Me, since he originally only posted censored photos for his safety. I saw the conditions he was living in and his sweet face! Me and his support team have messaged him everyday since. He is the most generous person I have ever met, He is always generous to as many families around him as possible, even when me and the rest of his support team reminds him to save some for himself!

<div>There have been many hard nights in Rafah , but his family is steadfast and doing as well as possible. The other night, my friends on Seraj's support team complimented Seraj on the wonderful food his family makes with so little under such circumstances. He responded:

<div>One of the most impactful ways that Seraj is changing the atmosphere in his Rafah camp is by giving to others. He has completed 5 very successful self directed humanitarian ( on the ground mutual aid) projects since the first day of Ramadan, in which he has given Eidi envelopes and fresh produce to a couple hundred of neighboring children at this point!

<div>Seraj has been using your donations for months now to provide for his family. He's bought food, electricity, water, medicine, blankets, gas and other necessities. He has been tirelessly and selflessly serving his family and neighbors.

<div>He is spending $8,000-$13,000 a month on necessities for his family and to do his mutual aid projects (each project has cost $2000-$5000). There are no luxuries to be had, and the food that is available is a far cry from what Seraj's mother used to cook.

<div>As a reminder, no one in Gah-zzah has been able to work for money in over 9 months. The sky-high prices are being charged to folks who have no income, who have lost their savings, and who can barely even connect to the internet.

<div>Seraj's family, like many others in Gah-zzah, are surviving on mutual aid alone. International organizations and nonprofits have abandoned them. We are what we have, and that's so blatantly obvious. Please help Seraj's family stay alive.

But now, I cannot complete my studies. My university is destroyed and my MSI laptop is gone. I bought it for exactly $1,500 but it was there at the university, in the lab room (full of equipment) when the university was bombed. On Saturday I should have had a practical test on my laptop, but unfortunately I didn't have the chance to do the test.

<div>Despite the fact that everything I worked for is gone now and we are unsure when this will end and what will happen to us in the coming days and weeks, I keep dreaming. I always said: “You will not achieve your dreams if you do not dream”.

<div>My dream now is to live through this, then buy a new laptop and complete my studies.

Rebuilding 21-Year-Old Seraj's Life & Dreams

<div>Hello, I'm Rudaina from Gaza, a mother of four. We once had a wonderful life, full of happiness and comfort, in a warm, secure home. My eldest son, Mustafa, was excelling in his engineering studies at the University. My second son was about to graduate high school and preparing for university. My 14-year-old was one of the top students in his class, and my youngest, Dana, in the third grade, loved playing with her friends.

<div>'It is the 8th time my family and I have been displaced since October 7th. Gaza has been cut into pieces and my entire family has been divided up as a result of it. One flung here, the other flung there, broken up by the red line that divides the north and the south. It feels like we are world’s apart and just towing the line between life and death. I miss them so much, I miss my big, close-knit family. Now my brother and I are the only ones bearing the family name. My name is Arwa, I am a 22 year old girl from Gaza living with just my 16 year old brother, Ibrahim. We were separated from the rest of our family when the Israeli army began their land invasion of the north. My family and I were so scared! Bombs were flying all around us as bullets chased us down, and as much as it pained us to leave we had to flee. The journey to the south was very painful, we walked for days and lost some family members along the way. We had a lack of food and water, and on top of that we had to endure many attacks from bombs, white phosphorus, and bullets that led to further separation from the family I had left! Now it is just my brother and I in Rafah. There is no drinking water or food, any food that is available comes with a steep price. To get things here in Gaza you’ll either pay with a large fee or your life. Every day, early in the morning, my teenage brother gets up to try and provide for us, but everyday he comes back empty handed because there is nothing left in Gaza. He is supposed to be in high school but now he risks his life to go out just to find something for us to drink!. It is so cold here, we sleep on the ground that is wet with sewage water and we have no closed toe shoes or winter jackets to keep us warm. We go to sleep with fear in our bellies to mask our hunger. It is painful to grieve and to watch my brother grieve. I was studying business administration, and I was so happy to be furthering my education and fufilling my passion. It was my dream back then, now my dream is to see me and my brother live. My dream is to be safe. The only option for us now is to evacuate Gaza, and I have hope that we can be helped, that we can be saved. In these dark times, I place my hope in God and you. I ask that you please consider me and Ibrahim, please help us evacuate Gaza and live. Thank you so so much.”
