THE GOAL: CREATING A HEALING OASIS IN THE MIDDLE OF AMERICA
Universal Church of Baba's Kitchen (UCBK) is undertaking a miraculous mission: to establish a spiritual healing, teaching, meditation, and retreat center in rural Missouri.
The creation of this healing and blessing place is being spearheaded by UCBK’s minister and leader Alx Uttermann, who grew up in the picturesque historic town of Ste. Genevieve. Originally a French settlement, Ste. Genevieve is the oldest colonial town West of the Mississippi River, with a rich heritage reflected in its 18th and 19th century homes and buildings.
This spiritual center in Ste. Genevieve will embody miracle healing and spiritual nourishment, on many levels.
FROM MOTHER MARY TO INDIA AND BACK AGAIN
UCBK has been sharing the healing power of Divine Mother (including Mother Mary), as well as divine knowledge and meditations from ancient India, since its inception in 2007.
In the early 2000s, co-founders Alx Uttermann and Jonathan D. Rosen spent many years living in Penukonda, South India, learning the reality of healing, spirituality, and practical relief from the stresses and strain of modern life — from ancient manuscripts and supernatural souls like miracle healing saint Sri Kaleshwar.
The inspiration to create this center in Ste. Genevieve came through Alx’ deep connection to the holy souls of India, and also through her deep love for Jesus Christ and his mother.
Our Lady Of The Miraculous Medal, the form of Mary who appeared in Paris in 1830, has played a central role in blessing the work of UCBK over many years. It is no surprise, perhaps, that an American national shrine to this same form of Mother Mary lies about 25 minutes away from Ste. Genevieve. What a blessing to be able to bring spiritual students on retreat in UCBK’s center in one Missouri town to experience the blessing and beauty of this Mother Mary shrine in nearby Perryville!
The UCBK center will be dedicated to sharing god’s miracle power and unconditional love, with areas for meditation/contemplation, including enlivened respresentations of Jesus, Mother Mary, and other miracle healing figures from our human history.
Our vision is to create a place where all are welcome, regardless of religious/spiritual practice, path or belief, or none at all. If everyone who sets foot on the grounds leaves feeling renewed, relieved, restored, uplifted, and inspired in some way — our work has been a success.
THE FIRST SCHOOL - ADI PEETH
In 2024, UCBK purchased an historic building in Ste. Genevieve, a local landmark known as the First School. Originally constructed in 1859, this humble brick building was the first public school established west of the Mississippi.
From the 1880s until about 1920, the First School served as a schoolhouse for black children. (In the video above, you can hear a bit about the extraordinary former slave woman, Pélagie Amoureux, who created this school!)
“First School” has a deep meaning in its Sanskrit translation — “Adi Peeth” — meaning the first or original spiritual school/lineage, a seat of learning and divine knowledge. UCBK will be keeping this historic name, in homage to the First School’s name and historical significance, while incorporating the ancient resonance of Adi Peeth, at the same time.
THE PLANS: CONSTRUCTION, RENOVATION, RESTORATION
Creating a beautiful, functional spiritual place on the First School property (nearly half an acre) requires some new construction, as well as extensive renovations, and significant brickwork restoration. (The brick restoration is already underway!)
The main First School building will be reconfigured into two units to host classes, programs, retreats, and meditations, serving as an Airbnb during off-times. Plans include constructing a smaller building at the rear of the property, featuring a small Jesus temple (with marble statue of the Big Boss) along with an additional living and teaching space.
The expansive grounds will include landscaped gardens, a fire homa area, meditation spots, and a shrine to Mother Mary - with a large marble statue of her, visible and blessing, to all.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Bringing the First School back to life as an oasis of blessing depends, of course, on solid financial support — in a time of potential economic shakiness.
Increases in the cost of construction materials (especially lumber and steel) are already affecting the building industry in the USA, and these price increases are likely to intensify in coming months.
Another significant expense: we’ll be having the marble statues of Jesus and Mother Mary sculpted by top professionals in India, and shipped to Missouri via ocean freighter.
ALL HELP IS GOOD HELP
Donate Today: Your contributions will help us with essential building materials, keeping our construction, renovation, and restoration efforts on track. No donation is too small!
Spread The Word: Share this initiative with the friends, family, even complete strangers! through emails, texts, social media, and by just talking about it, to build wider support for the creation of this beacon of spiritual light, waiting to shine in the Midwest.
A VISION OF UNITY, OF ENLIGHTENMENT
The First School will be more than just a building — it is a sacred space where the divine energy can bring profound transformation and healing, upliftment and blessing, to a wide area of the US.
By supporting this project, you’re contributing to UCBK’s global mission to spread light, hope, and healing as far and wide as possible.
Together, we can bring this vision to life and extend the divine’s love and miraculous grace to all who seek it.
Let us unite to breathe miraculous life into the First School, empowering UCBK to create a sanctuary that fosters healing, growth, and divine connection for generations to come.
Thank you, so much, for your support, your generosity, your good thoughts, your kind prayers, and any and all donations. Every little bit of support adds up to a totality of blessing, for all!
