Help Tyler Thrive: From Foster Care to Cybersecurity Future
Donation protected
Tyler is an extraordinary young man who has already overcome more challenges than most of us will face in a lifetime. After spending 10 year in foster care and enduring over 30 placements, he recently aged out of the system- without a permanent home, support system, or even the personal belongings he'd manage to collect along the way. At one point DSS even lost everything he owned.
But here's the amazing part: Tyler is thriving. He's now studying Cybersecurity at Wake Tech, determined to build a stable, successful future for himself- and he's doing incredibly well.
To help him start this next chapter with the dignity and comfort he deserves, we're organizing an HGTV-style "first apartment glow-up" on Tuesday, May 13th, and we'd love your help to make it happen.
We're also raising funds to fix his car's AC system, which is essential for getting to work, school and appointments in the North Carolina heat. Our trusted mechanic (shoutout to Jesse at The Car Place) has already donated his time to Tyler and is generously offering to help again. The estimated cost of repairs is $2,500, but the final amount will depend on diagnostic testing.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
- Furnishing and outfitting Tyler's first apartment
- Repairing his car's AC
- Providing essentials to help him continue building a life full of independence, stability and opportunity.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your network. Together, we can show Tyler that he's not alone- and that a whole community is rooting for him.
With gratitude,
