Tyler LaDue is 21 years old, and instead of beginning the bright future he worked so hard for, he is once again fighting for his life.
In March of 2020—at the very start of the pandemic—Tyler was first diagnosed with leukemia. At a time when the world shut down, Tyler faced something even more terrifying: chemo, isolation, uncertainty, and the loss of his senior-year milestones. After a long, painful battle, he fought his way into remission and moved forward with hope.
Tyler chased that hope straight into the classroom, becoming an elementary teacher in the very school he once attended as a child. His dream was to give back, to be the teacher who makes kids feel seen, safe, and loved—just as his teachers once did for him.
But now, just as his career began, leukemia has returned.
And this time, the fight is even harder.
Tyler’s Current Battle
Doctors have determined Tyler will need a bone marrow transplant, which involves:
Extensive hospital stays
Aggressive treatments
Months of recovery and monitoring
Major travel from Syracuse, NY to Boston, MA
Temporary relocation for Tyler and his family
Loss of income while he is unable to teach
This journey is emotionally, physically, and financially overwhelming.

Who Tyler Is
Tyler is the kind of person who shows up.
For his students.
For his coworkers.
For his family and friends.
For his community.
He is kind, patient, gentle, and passionate about teaching—already making a difference in the lives of the children he dreamed of guiding. He had just started this new chapter when life was suddenly rewritten once again.
This time, he needs his community to show up for him.
How You Can Help
ANY amount makes a difference.
Even sharing this page helps tremendously.
Tyler beat cancer once.
He can do it again.
But he shouldn’t have to do it alone.
