Help Tucker's Recovery
Donation protected
My nephew, Tucker, began complaining of “seeing copies” of everything on January 8th, 2022. His mom took him to the emergency room, and the ER doctor suggested his eye doctor see Tucker before deciding to do any imaging tests. Tucky’s mom set up an eye appointment for him ASAP, and dad took him to the first available appointment on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Tucker's eye doctor confirmed the need for an MRI.
An MRI at a local hospital revealed a brain tumor in my 5-year-old nephew’s head. By January 12th, 2022, my sweet nephew was immediately in an ambulance (riding with mom and with dad following behind) to Lucille Packard, Stanford Children’s hospital.
Stanford performed their own MRI to confirm a surgery path with crisper images. By Friday, January 14th, 2022, Tucky was wheeled into the operating room to undergo 5-hour brain surgery. His mom and dad waited as close by as possible in the family waiting and resource room, praying for their son and his neurosurgery team without ceasing. Meanwhile, back at home in Nevada, his big sister Kinslee along with his cousins, aunties, uncles, grandparents, great-grandparents, family-in-law, friends, and local churches, became prayer warriors for this sweet little man! In addition, there were family and churches being prayer warriors for him in Texas, California, Utah, Washington, Colorado, Canada, and even in Singapore!! This amazing little dude is so loved!!!
God guided the hands of Tucky’s rockstar neurosurgeon, who happens to be the Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery, and he got it ALL!!! Gross total resection, praise God!! Dr. Grant (Tucky’s rockstar neurosurgeon) believes the tumor to have been a benign meningioma, a type of tumor that arises from the meninges (lining) in the brain. We are still awaiting preliminary pathology reports (which should take a few more days) and a more extensive pathology report (which will take a few weeks).
Tucky is doing so well in his surgery recovery, still AMAZING, SILLY, and CUTE as ever!! This sweet little guy is so brave!
We are asking for any help you could possibly give to help him and his family as he recovers with any medical costs that do not end up being covered and the day-to-day expenses of living in this family of four. Neither parent is working right now to ensure that they are present physically and emotionally in their sweet baby boy’s recovery while still addressing dad’s medical needs, as well. If you are not able to help financially, we ask for your continued prayers in Tucky’s recovery. We are so grateful for each and every one of you! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
