Help TRUE Restore Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa

WHO I AM:
My name is Simona, and I'm the founder of TRUE, an organization Totally Relying Upon Elohim to guide every act of service. We are committed to giving back and restoring communities. Change begins with us — one county, one city, one parish at a time.

I currently live in New York, but Jamaica is my home. My mother and father were both born in Jamaica, and although they migrated to America for better opportunities, many of my family members are still on the island. Watching Hurricane Melissa, the strongest storm to ever hit Jamaica in 174 years turn my beautiful country from green to brown in a matter of seconds left me at a loss for words.

For the past week, I've watched Jamaica a proud and bold country brought to its knees. A nation full of resilience has been forced to seek help. My family is there, and I'm deeply concerned for them; just as I am for every Jamaican family facing this crisis. This isn't just a cause for me — it's personal. This is my country, my roots, my people."

WHAT HAPPENED:
On October 28, 2025 Hurricane Melissa; a Category 5 monster with 185 mph winds devastated Jamaica. Nearly 500,000 people are without power. Entire communities have been demolished. Homes destroyed. Roads impassable. Hospitals damaged. Schools closed.
Families across every parish in Jamaica have been negatively impacted by Hurricane Melissa — each community affected in different ways, but all facing tremendous loss.

THE IMPACT:
AGRICULTURE:
In agricultural parishes, families who depend on their crops for food and income watched breadfruit trees, callaloo gardens, and ackee groves destroyed in hours. Farmers with generations of land now have nothing to harvest, nothing to sell, nothing to feed their families. The crops that sustain our people and power our food businesses — from farm to table — have been destroyed.

LIVESTOCK:
Livestock farmers lost their herds- chickens, goats, cattle gone. For rural families, these animals weren't just income; they were daily meals.

FISHING COMMUNITIES:
In coastal communities, fishermen lost their boats, nets, and traps — their only source of income swept away. Families who live off the sea now can't provide for themselves.

️ TOURISM:
In tourism-dependent areas, small guesthouse owners, craft vendors, and tour guides saw their businesses destroyed. No tourists means no income, and these families are left wondering.

FAMILIES:
Families woke up to roofs torn away, homes flooded, and everything they owned destroyed. Children without schools to attend. Parents without jobs to return to.

OUR CULTURE IS AT RISK:
Our culture isn't just entertainment for tourists it's who we are. It's our identity, our heritage, our way of life. When you help rebuild Jamaica, you're not just rebuilding homes and communities , you're preserving a culture that has given the world so much.

WHY I'M RAISING FUNDS:
We likkle but we tallawah — small but mighty. Jamaica will rise again, but we can't do it alone.
TRUE is mobilizing immediate relief efforts. I along with other individuals will personally be traveling to Jamaica to hand-deliver supplies and funds directly to the communities in need. No middlemen. No delays. Just direct, compassionate action guided by faith.

JAMAICA NEEDS US. RIGHT NOW.
If there's one thing the world knows about Jamaica, it's that we don't stay down. We're resilient. We're resourceful. We're unbreakable. But even the strongest people need support.

Jamaica gave the world reggae, jerk chicken, and the phrase "one love." Now, Jamaica needs the world to show us that same love.
Stand with Jamaica. Donate today. Together, we will restore our sweet, sweet island.
