Hi all! I have a friend who’s a single mom with 4 kids who’s been staying with her sister since she went into preterm labor with her youngest a few months ago while the sisters husband was out of the country. Now that he’s back this last week he’s told them they have to get out (understandable, it was 3 families in a single apartment). She called me and we sat down and called around to different shelters but they were all either full (covid ☹️) or full of stipulations (only 2 kids, abuse victims only, etc). So since about 3 or 4 days ago, she’s been staying with us! A family of 4 and a family of 5 in a 3 bedroom We’ve been working on getting some resources for her, making lots of phone calls, filling out lots of forms. She has a current CNA position her supervisor confirmed she has shifts available. Her car has a good list of work it needs before it’s driveable. So we’re super close to getting her on her feet! But our two biggest hurdles now are getting funds to get her car fixed and getting some debts resolved so the apartment she qualifies for will let her in. ALSO everything they own fits in the trunk of my little ford sedan so if there’s anything anyone has as far as clothes toys furniture etc we don’t have a ton of room for it YET but I’d like to gather some stuff for her family and their soon to be new apartment! She’s 24 and her children are a 5 year old boy, almost 3 year old girl, 18 month old boy and her baby boy. My husband and I have been buying food and diapers but we’re all grateful to take anything!!
