Based out of Asheville NC, Operation Gateway is a community-based organization that focuses on helping people who are in reentry and recovery.

We assist people with housing, clothes, food, transportation, career opportunities, education, healthcare and mental health services, recovery treatment, peer support, recovery coaching, and referrals to other community resources.

Our Mission: Decreasing recidivism by addressing the social determinants of the health of returning citizens. OG has developed a model to leverage the lived experience of certified Community Health Workers (CHW) who are formerly incarcerated and active in addiction recovery to assist in navigating the barriers faced when reentering society.

We consider ourselves Change Agents. We serve the community of Western North Carolina and we are growing an ecosystem of resources to keep our communities safer and healthier. The work we do is transforming lives and changing the stigmas around formerly incarcerated people.
