My name is Agustya Saini, and this Christmas, I want to share a gift that can transform an entire community: the gift of clean water.

For most of us, this is a season of abundance. Our homes are warm, our tables are full, and we are surrounded by loved ones. But for countless children in South Sudan, it is a season of thirst.

My eyes were opened to this heartbreaking reality when my mom showed me a video of a little girl, no older than I was, walking for miles under a blistering sun to find water. The contrast to my own life felt like a physical blow, especially after reading A Long Walk to Water, the story of Salva Dut. It was a wake-up call, and now, my heart aches for those who only know thirst.

That’s why I'm raising money for Water for South Sudan, Inc., the incredible organization founded by Salva Dut himself. They build reliable, long-lasting water systems that bring the gift of clean water to thousands of people at a time. It’s an ambitious goal, but one that could change everything for a community.

The cost to fund one of these life-changing water systems is about $50,000. Here’s how we can make this miracle happen together: If just 2,500 of us each donate $20, we can raise the $50,000 needed to fund one complete water system. It is a manageable goal for all of us, but it would be an absolute miracle for them.

This Christmas, while we celebrate our abundance, countless children know only thirst. The contrast is heart-wrenching. Let's make this a season where we don't just receive, but truly give the gift of life.
