Tracy Biney Assan, her husband, and their two school-age children have been living a nightmare since January 30, 2026. That day, Tracy and her husband found their house filled with the overwhelming odor of gasoline and oil. They immediately called the fire department, who dispatched a hazmat team. What they discovered was shocking: 275 gallons of oil had been accidentally pumped into their basement by an oil company that went to the wrong address. Tracy’s family never used oil for heating and had no tank, making the situation even more bewildering and devastating.

Since that day, Tracy’s family has been unable to return to their home. Their own insurance company quickly refused to help, and the oil company’s insurance agent has not reached out. For nearly four months, Tracy, her husband, and their children have been living in extended stay hotels, trying to keep life as normal as possible for the kids, who are still attending school. The home still reeks of oil and gasoline, and it’s likely they will never be able to live there again. The stress and uncertainty have taken a toll on everyone, especially Tracy, who continues to work daily as a devoted physician assistant, all while managing her own chronic health issues.

Funds raised will help cover the mounting hotel costs, provide meals, and hopefully assist Tracy’s family in finding a new home in their current school district.
