On June 23rd, 2025, my best friend Lance and I experienced a life-changing event when we were attacked by a pitbull. I received a severe bite to my right arm, which left parts of it paralyzed and led to a major infection. I spent eight days in the hospital, underwent surgery to remove debris and infection, and have since lost much of the feeling and use in my right hand and fingers. Lance suffered three bites—one on his right arm and two on his right leg. During the attack, he had a stroke that severed an artery, requiring emergency artery repair surgery and a procedure to remove a blood clot from his brain. The stroke left him unable to use the right side of his body, and he is slowly regaining movement. I am now his caretaker, and we are both doing our best to recover together.
Since the attack, we have lost our ability to work and recently lost our home. We are currently living in a camper at a truck stop, with our belongings in a U-Haul parked nearby. My caretaker job only provides a few hours a week, and it’s not enough to support us or secure a place to live. Every day is a struggle to keep gas in our generator and stay warm. In the past two weeks, Lance suffered another health episode and underwent two heart surgeries for AFib and a blood clot. He just returned home, and we are doing everything we can to get by.
We are asking for help to find a stable home, cover daily living expenses, and maintain our current shelter. Any support—whether it’s a prayer or a small donation—would mean the world to us. Your kindness will help us stay afloat and give us hope during this incredibly difficult time. Please keep us in your prayers, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God bless.
