Help Toreian Rebuild After SUV Fire
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Toreian Wilburn. I am a single mother of 4 young children.
May 9th, I lost my SUV in an unexpected fire. Normally I’d travel to drop my children off to school and then to work but this day was different. I made it to get everyone to school and shortly after I noticed that my check engine light had come on. My stirring wheel seemed to be tough to turn but I didn’t think much of it because the car was still drivable. Next thing I noticed was my battery savings light letting me know that I needed to check the battery. I noticed that my radio had cut off which led me to pull over. I pulled into the nearest parking lot. By then the wheel was extremely hard to turn. I was able to pull into a spot, from here everything seemed to be quiet so I sat there for a short while with the car still running. I noticed smoke coming from the hood, light but visible along with a strong burning smell. This is when I decided to get out and get as far away as possible. I paced the side walk while I watched the smoke change from light to dark gray. Shortly after the hood was engulfed in flames. A few gentlemen were kind enough to stop and try to help put the fire out with fire extinguishers but the flames were way too massive for the extinguishers to tackle. The fire department had arrived. After about 15-20 minutes of fighting the fire they were able to put it out completely with the ending results captured in one of the pictures. I am in awe of God’s strategic planning. He showed me signs that led me to our safety and I’ll forever be grateful for his grace and mercy! For those who took the time to stop and help, I’m thankful for you! Even though we are now without transportation we have our lives to share our testimony, my God did not fail! Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
