This is Topher Fast, one of the kindest, most selfless, passionate, hilarious, and hardworking people we have had the pleasure of knowing.
Living in Hawai’i for the past 8 years, he has worked tirelessly to build his sustainable farm from scratch whilst maintaining his job as a teacher to children on the Big Island. He dreams of ultimately finishing the farm as a space for community supported agriculture and education; to provide a model for local CSA
and teach local Hawai’ian children farming techniques, especially as more and more natives are forced to give up land that has been in their families for generations. He also hopes to create a nonprofit to financially support new farmers. However, dreams are expensive.
To develop his farm and remain sustainably off-grid, Topher needs some things: a water filter, electric fence and parts for a generator, just to name a few. As a dedicated teacher, he has used his own money to buy supplies for his students and has little to spend on his own projects. In this aspect, we want to lend a hand, and we need your help.
This July, we were lucky to have Topher as one of our leaders on a cultural education and service trip to Hawai’i, where he worked tirelessly to make the experience a success. He has given us more than we can put into words. Topher, your humility is inspiring, your passion is incredible, and your love is overflowing. We’d give you the world if we could. Thank you for everything.
