Help Tony & Denise Milliken Recover After Tragic Accidents

Donation protected
Update 7/4/25 - Thank you to everyone who has helped so far, and to all who have reached out to send their well wishes. Denise’s hip surgery went well. She will not be having any work done on her wrist, as the doctor said it was up to her because it should heal on its own with a cast. She will be moving to a rehab facility today. If you would like details about her location, please contact one of her daughters directly.

Tony is doing well, adjusting to this new reality, but taking one day at a time. He has been able to drive his van, but it’s not sustainable as the driver’s side is smashed in, there’s no driver’s side mirror, and there are possible leaking fluids. They have not had the time to have it checked out, but plan on it, and it will at least need extensive repairs. This was unknown at the time of the original post.

Gizmo is being taken care of. Tony went home to sleep last night as Gizmo is afraid of fireworks. He came back to the hospital early this morning.

There are still a lot of unknowns regarding insurance/workman's comp coverage and the length of time for recovery. Denise has been doing decent in therapy, but there’s a long road ahead.

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to ask for support for my aunt and uncle, Tony and Denise Milliken, who are going through an incredibly difficult time.

Yesterday, my aunt Denise suffered a serious fall while working at a nursing home, where she has spent years compassionately caring for the elderly. She broke her hip and wrist and is currently undergoing surgery to repair her injuries.

While my uncle Tony was driving to the hospital to be with her, he was side-swiped by another vehicle. Thankfully he wasn’t hurt, but their only vehicle was totaled in the accident.

With Denise now hospitalized and out of work for the foreseeable future, and Tony unable to work himself, they suddenly find themselves with no income, no transportation, and an uncertain road ahead.

They also have a beloved dog named Gizmo, who means the world to them and brings them so much comfort—especially during hard times like these—but their ability to care for themselves and their pet is being severely tested.

I’m creating this GoFundMe to help them with immediate needs like transportation, medical expenses, and basic living costs during this incredibly hard time.

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and is deeply appreciated. And even if you can’t contribute financially, sharing this campaign would be incredibly helpful.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, prayers, and support for Tony, Denise, and little Gizmo.

With gratitude,
Leslie Rantz
