Tony Christofano is one of the most SELFLESS and hard working men that will ever walk this planet. He is active in the marching band and winterguard community, having judged since 1998 in circuits including RMCGA, AzMBA, WGAZ and WGI. He got his first job teaching guard when he was 15 in 1971. To say the least, Tony has been a very influential member of the community and has helped thousands of kids improve their skills, going so far as volunteering to drive up to Title I schools to offer free clinics for programs who cannot afford instructional staff. As his picture shows, he even volunteers as "Santa Claus" during the holidays simply to see smiles on the faces of the children that visit.
Last week, Tony Christofano's Ford died and requires a new engine that is more than the car itself is worth. Tony has put over 250,000 miles on his car because just about every weekend in the fall and spring, he drives from Rocky Point to Phoenix or Tucson to judge or coordinate the judges at marching band or color guard shows. Tony only makes money judging and sewing flags for colorguards, and does not have enough money to get a vehicle at this time. His friends have graciously offered to let him borrow their car or even drive him up, but we can do more.
It is my hope that the colorguard and marching band community can come together and support this man that would never ask for help. The funds raised would give him a down payment on a new vehicle. If enough funds are raised, the goal could change to completely paying for his vehicle.
Because Tony is scheduled to judge in the upcoming months, I'd like the turnaround to be short and to make this a fast and successful campaign. Thank you so much for your support! Tony is someone who we, as a community, should rally around and support.
