Hello, my name is Dawn and many of you know me and my family. My sister Toni has been struggling with her health for quite a few months now and has been dealing with some unanswered medical questions that leave her life physically and mentally challenged most days and in a lot of pain. She has unanswered questions as to what is going on; except some of it is neurological and the future is unknown right now. She is having future testing done and awaiting results to find definitive answers and get back to herself. She will need to be out of work for a bit to get answers and get better. She is in a lot of pain as well as dealing with other effects from what is going on.

As a single mother, she has exhausted and utilized all her means financially. We as a family have been doing what we can to help out, but it has come to a point of being beyond difficult. Not being able to work will mean no income to pay for the necessities of living/rent, utilities, as well as things already committed to for my niece, her daughter Tara. She has exhausted all her sick and personal time in the last month and a half with doctor's visits and tests. She is now on leave unpaid. We do not know what is to come with the tests, and we have no idea when she will be able to return to work. Even on days she has tried to go, she can barely make it through or has to leave for an appointment to see what's happening. It has been mentally exhausting as well; not having all the answers is draining.

We are trying to maintain a positive environment for Tara, trying not to make too many changes for her, and are encouraging her to keep doing what makes her happy. We are trying to make this time of year as normal as possible, even though she knows her mom can't be at some things. It goes without having to be said that this time of year is financially more difficult, so please know this is not something we take lightly or would normally do, especially knowing Toni is a private person.
