On January 15th, 2022 - Tonga experienced the violent eruption of an underwater volcano spreading shockwaves halfway around the world. This resulted in the Kingdom being hit with a tsunami, villages destroyed, ashes and debris covering most islands.

The country has widely depended on rain for freshwater supplies, but these natural disasters have contaminated water systems. In addition - powerlines, phones, and the internet are down. Many are left without shelter, food, or clothing.
