Help Tom & Lesley rebuild Home Park Barn

Tom and Lesley have been converting Home Park Barn at Brownber, Newbiggin-on-Lune, into a home since 2017. The project has been a labour of love, with Tom working tirelessly over the past four years, undertaking almost all of the work himself.

On the 9th March 2022, approximately five months away from completion, the building suffered a catastrophic fire and was completely destroyed. Only the walls are left standing.

I have known Tom & Lesley for many years and have seen them renovate several old buildings. The catastrophic loss of Home Park Barn is not only a financial and emotional loss of the time and investment in this project but also those which have gone before.

Tom & Lesley have renovation insurance. However, early indications are that the insurance will not be settled to allow the full reinstatement of the building to how it was before the fire.

As a community, Ravenstonedale and Newbiggin have a long history of supporting residents in adversity, so I have started this page to allow people to offer their support if they wish.
