Help Tom to Help Harry rebuild a safe home in Peru after damaging storms & floods.

Meet Harry, my brother from another mother. We met in his hometown on my recent trip to Peru. From the very moment we met his heart and presence touched me deeply. For a human who has so little, he gives so much to others without measure. He sat and talked with me for hours, teaching me about his ancestors, culture and land. I had the honour to meet three generations of his family and felt connected to them from the moment I walked into his home.

It's been a hard chapter for this kind-hearted family. The day I left I received the very sad news that Harry’s dad passed away. On top of that flooding rains and storms have inundated their home with water, rubbish and sewerage from the nearby village. Winds have also damaged the roof and the walls in their home. Continuous rising water has caused an outbreak of mould, dampness and disintegration of the timber, deeply affecting their health.

Harry and his family in this short time became like my own. My heart really hurts seeing them face their loss and such great adversity at the same time. I could not walk away without trying to help, I felt moved to find a way to contribute to his family from this side of the world. I have started sending money to begin urgent repairs to help

create safer living conditions.

With the wet season already in full swing and not forecast to ease until the end of May, I would like to invite the special people in my world to be a part of supporting this wonderful family by contributing to this crowd fund. I am in daily connection with Harry and his family, sharing as much love, kindness and warmth as I can, offering strength and tending to their loss and grief at the same time.

I propose that our goal is to raise enough money to pay for building materials and begin emergency repairs to protect the hut from further flooding water. These basic repairs will also drastically improve and stabilise the living conditions of Harry and his family.

Life throws a curveball to all of us. We all need a gentle hand of support from time to time, to see and to reach out to each other, to touch and be touched by our shared humanity.
