Hello all
After the win by the Labor Government, we are re-purposing this fundraiser for much-needed funds for our massive rally up on Parliament House Hill on July 28th. We are asking Anthony Albanese to get a move on with his (apparent) intention to use (so-called) 'quiet diplomacy' with the USA and UK Governments to bring Assange home, but the grassroots people are frankly tired of waiting while Julian continues to languish and we know his life is in danger. We are following Stella Assange's exhortation to 'shout louder'.
For this event, we are printing vast amounts of posters and leaflets, large vinyl banners, and, most expensive of all, a marquee and stage to protect the speakers and PA system from the freezing winter weather - rain is always a distinct possibility in Canberra.

WE'VE HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH!
... and will be meeting to carry the message up to Anthony Albanese and the Labor cabinet that we expect them to make good on their apparent commitment to apply diplomatic pressure (yes pressure) to the UK and US Governments to drop the wholly political case against Julian Assange. NOW!
Our petition to get Assange home has 3/4 million signatures. We've been patient, and hopeful that our new government will stand up for Julian - but we are now fed up with delays and the long painful process this Australian journalist has been put through for doing nothing more than his job. He has done what every journalist should do: tell us the truth about corruption and war crimes among those who have power over us, and enable us to hold them to account. Journalism is not a crime. It's a Crime-Stopper.
Free our truth teller, free the press, free the people’s right to the truth and to greater government transparency. Only in this way can any true democracy work.

We are sending this colourful postcard with its hard-hitting message of #FREE ASSANGE, to Australian politicians from all over the world, especially from Australia. So far we've sent just under 500 from Canberra alone with our private funds, but we need funding to make this urgent campaign HUGE before our election on May 21.
Emails can often be ignored, but this card has to be held & handled. I have already made versions for Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Tasmania, Canada, & the USA, but more are needed!
