My name is Nancy and my husband and I have known Julie and her husband for a few years. Julie is 64 years old, Korean, and homeless. She lives in her van with her 2 dogs. She's never done drugs and has survived stage 5 cancer. She's diabetic and needs insulin daily.
Her cancer and resulting medical bills caused her and her husband to lose their auto body business years ago and become homeless, living in thier van.
We have been helping her since November when her husband died of a heart attack, leaving her alone and unable to drive the van. (Her husband had it mickey moused and we can't get it to start)
Every month or so we have to push her van to another location because of code enforcement rules, she can't stay in one spot very long. She has a few people that come and bring her some food and water, give her insulin shots, and help her with needs.
I'm asking for some important help for her. Her van has gotten several parking tickets ($700) in Anaheim and the PD is threatening to tow it this week if she doesn't pay the tickets and move the van off of the city's streets.
I am trying to raise money to help her pay the tickets and maybe get her into a place. Either a motel that takes pets or rent her a room for a couple months until she can get her SSI coming in (fingers crossed). She has not received any of her stimulus payments yet and thinks they have been stolen.
She's a sweet lady and doesn't deserve to suffer in terror afraid to lose the only home she has for herself and her fur babies.
The dogs are her only family right now and her living without them is not an option.
If you have any other resource or can donate to help her out, it will be life saving for her!! We only have a few days to figure this out. If you want to donate through venmo, it's @Nancy-forcone
