Hi guys...I don't know if this is right or wrong, but it just is what it is...life, eh...

For the first time in over a decade for me and for the first time in my kids' entire lives, we are able to live in Sturgeon Bay for July and half of August so we can be with all of my friends and family AND be there for the birth of my first grand child.

However, in a sad twist of fate, my car tire blew out on the drive to the airport yesterday, and we missed our flights and the airline was horrible and would not rebook our flights unless I paid $4,000 for new flights (impossible). Unfortunately, they also will not refund what I paid for our original flights, which I'm still paying off -- even though I received exactly ZERO flights. A lot of tears were shed yesterday as my kids and I left the airport and realized the magnitude of the loss, and the fact that there was nothing we could do to fix this.

But in a nicer and very surprising twist of fate, I realized maybe there is something we can do about it after a few of you have reached out to me and said you'd help support us if I started a GoFundMe to help us with getting new flights to Wisconsin, so we can still be there to spend time with everyone AND see my granddaughter be born -- she's due July 13th!

Honestly, yesterday was absolutely devastating for me and my two youngest kids, and maybe even moreso for my oldest daughter that wants me to be in the room with her when she gives birth, so I am going to take my friends up on the offer. Because I desperately want to be able to be home with everyone, and my friends have reminded me that there is power in numbers when we come together and help each other.

If anyone has it in their hearts to help me with the cost of salvaging our ability to be in Wisconsin for the summer, I'd greatly appreciate it. Hope to be reunited with you all very soon ❤
